Book Selections

We have put together these lists of selected resources to help you better navigate conversations about race, justice and unity from a Christian perspective.

Traditional Christian Voices

The following books address questions about race, justice and unity in a manner that is largely consistent with our perspective. We think Christian leaders, such as school administrators and church pastors/elders, would do well to allow these books serve as a foundation for doctrine, life, policy-making, and hiring practices.

Secular Voices on Racial Unity

The following books address questions about race and justice from a classically liberal ("anti-woke") perspective. We have found their research to be helpful when engaging about our common humanity in secular environments.

Christian Antiracism Voices

The following books are written by Christian authors who take a different approach than we do to addressing questions about race and racism. These books play an important role in shaping the public conversation about these issues. For this reason, we strongly encourage Christian leaders (such as school administrators and church pastors/elders) to become conversant about these ideas and both sides of the conversation.

Primary Sources on Race & Justice

The following books offer important first source material related to questions of race and racism. These are secular voices who have played an important role in shaping the development of the Critical Social Theories. It is not uncommon for the ideas presented in these books to be presented in professional development and HR contexts, even in Christian schools and ministries. While we do not endorse these perspectives, we strongly encourage Christian leaders to be conversant about these ideas.

Build an Integrated Christian Worldview

The following books offer a helpful introduction to key worldview issues. These trusted voices will help to equip you to have better conversations on various socio-political issues
